Updates

Pluto keeps improving. Your instance tells you when a newer version exists and updates in one click, keeping everything yours.

When an update exists

When a newer version is available, an Update available button appears beside the theme controls at the top of your agent. Click it to open Manage, then choose Update now. The dashboard and instance page also show available updates. Updates are only offered when the newer version builds on what you’re running.

What updating does

  • Rebuilds your instance from the latest version — typically a few minutes.
  • Keeps your chats, memories, connections, skills, files, and settings; your Pluto keeps serving on the previous version until the new build is ready.
  • Reconciles platform plumbing onto older instances along the way (sign-in, addresses, billing state), so long-lived instances pick up fixes without any manual steps.

If an update fails

Your instance page says what went wrong and puts Try again on the same card. Trying again also installs the latest version. When the cause is a service that didn’t respond, the card says so; that is usually temporary, and a retry a minute later normally goes through. Your chats, memories, and settings are never touched by a failed update.

If no update is offered

Occasionally the badge is replaced by a notice instead of a button — that means the platform’s published version moved in a way that isn’t a straight upgrade, and the operator is on it. A plain Redeploy from the Manage page remains available at any time; a failed build never takes your running instance down.
